Leinster did the business against Saracens and are in the Champions Cup semi-final in two weeks time.

The minute you saw them open Saracens up so easily for the first try, you had the feeling this was going to be a good day. Saracens are still a good team but they're not what they were, especially in defence, but Leinster took advantage ruthlessly in a knock-out fifteen minutes after half-time.

So it's finally here.

This is the game Leinster have been waiting for since they beat Montpellier in January.

Unfortunately Leinster chose to warm up with easily their worst performance of the season. It was only their third defeat of the season but in the other two defeats in Scotland, they could and probably should have won. In Swansea last week though the struggling Ospreys were miles the better team and they both out-muscled and out-played Leinster.

So Ireland are Grand Slam champions for the first time in nine years.

Leinster were the major suppliers to the winning squad with fourteen players in the final match day squad and another five who were named in match day squads for the other games. Of course it's great to see the lads making such a great contribution to the national team, but it's a double-edged sword in terms of Leinster's prospects for the rest of the season. Josh van der Flier and Robbie Henshaw are now probably out for the season and the likes of Johnny Sexton was fairly banged up by the end of the championship.

Match Preview: Scarlets vs Leinster Rugby

So after Storm Emma wiped out all the Pro14 games outside of South Africa last weekend, it's hopefully second time lucky as Leinster take on Scarlets for the second time in three weeks.

It will suit the Scarlets more to be played this weekend as Leinster would have likely been bolstered by a couple of Ireland squad members.
