Re: Ireland Tour of South Africa July 2024

Disappointed Hodnett isn't there. Has maintained his form all year and has been 1 of few bright sparks even last week from Munster POV. Can understand why Coombes isn't there. My big worry is alot are here on credit from yesteryear than form. Cian Healy isn't fully at this level anymore. We need to...

Re: Friday's Rave

It's a sad day when somebody of Eamonn Ryan's stature resigns the party leadership and indicates that he's not running for a dail seat in the next GE. Another concerning development following Leo Varadkar's recent retirement also Protester's demonstrating outside the Taoiseach's private resident or...

Re: Emerging Ireland to tour SA

The molecast lads seemed puzzled why the tour is being held in September and not during the 6N or AIs. Seems obviously because they wantsomeone from the coaching ticket on board the tour?

Thats phrased as though he's gone at end of the season. He's said he will finish up in June 2025
Edited. Not really a surprise given the length of the contract.

Re: A whiff of Cordite

These are basically the same arguments people had against the smoking ban. Now when we look back on it the thought of our pubs, airplanes, shops etc being full of people smoking and bothering non smokers seems unimaginable. Similar in that the risk of passive smoking was massively overstated to jus...

Re: Rhys Ruddock announces retirement

That’s true. It’s also true Ruddock deserved more Ireland caps. He always performed at the highest level when selected, including against the big sides. No matter how well he performed for Leinster or Ireland, he never got a fair crack. Ironic given the current deluded moaning about Leinster player...

Re: Leinster Squad 24-25

Caolan Englefield, playing for Gloucester tonight in Challenge Cup final is Irish qualified and has played U.18 & 19 for Ireland. Ex L IRISH, he is a SH and a decent prospect Looks v good but capped by Saxons this year unfortunately. Leinster could do a better job at identifying PONI players, a...

Re: Central Contracts

I think everyone is missing the point that this opens the door to 15 CCs. “UP TO” If the system, as advertised, is equitable, we should go from paying Gibbo [15 Irish starts in the last two seasons] & Lowe [19 Irish starts in the last two seasons] sh*tloads to paying 30% of their CCs. Are we ev...

Re: IRFU finances and estimated provincial split.

The early press says that all parties agreed to the change. So either we were furious and are putting on a brave face or we're happy with the overall picture having seen the details. I'm gonna discount the possibility that we're not smart enough to see how this could be a negative for Leinster. I t...

Definitely Jimmy and No.
That's very definitive on Haley. I thought he'd a great season last year and if he hadn't been injured he might have featured in the 6N.
