Re: Champions Cup 2020 / 21

As mentioned earlier, Current law interpretation means teams don't really want the ball too much. Until that changes we're going to continue to see finals and big games as bad as this one. Point taken, but the mindsets taking kicks early on when either team had dominance... god neither team deserve...

That’s where I sit on it too.

Re: Leinster v. Ulster, Rainbow Cup, Fri 14 May, 20.15hrs

Especially considering the end last night where the ref didn't want to hear a captain's challenge because it came from the side line. I think it should be a coaches challenge like the nfl. I had assumed they were all from the side line anyway via the water bottle carriers, to winger, to captain etc...

Re: 2021 Lions

I watched a load of prem and pro 14 rugby this weekend, some players really stood out Watson and LRZ are both rapid and both look really dangerous, on current form they have to be the test match wingers as it stands Murray now looks to be streets ahead to get the 9 jersey Simons maybe a tad light t...

Re: 2021 Lions

Jags won the draft. Highest rated player in 10 years is available and they get him. Pat's 2nd. They get a guy who was expected to be 3rd but fell to 15 and is is exactly what they need. Leinster did great. Conan and Porter picked (good for them and no more Porter to loosehead nonsense). Guys with i...

Gatland left the Irish guys who've been struggling with injury and brought players who are 100%

Kinda happy about that.
Fair point on both counts.

Re: 2021 Lions

Last year I thought Tuilagi, Ringrose and Slade would all be traveling. No idea who’s gonna start 13 now Swore I’d finally grown up and wouldn’t get pulled into this anachronistic propaganda machine. But...looks to me like Robbie Henshaw will be 13. I think that’s one of the smarter moves they’ve m...

Re: Enforcer Second-Row Options

Last thing I’d say and I’ve just realised this is the wrong thread. The kicking game could’ve tested them more. Its hard to tell on tv, but it looked like Rog had them defend narrow in order to win contact and breakdown thereafter. Lowe nearly got on the end of a great Byrne cross kick. I think the...

Re: Enforcer Second-Row Options

It’s worth looking at Limecat’s preview and the section saying injured players for both teams. Then take into consideration that Sean O’Brien kind of had to move on last season. Now, Leinster bring in top drawer players everywhere, but I don’t think any other team could’ve remotely handled that thro...

Re: European Cup Semi-Final: Away to La Rochelle, Sunday 2nd of May 3pm

40 minutes isn’t enough of that. Borgourait has mistakes in him and should’ve been penalised in lead up to their first score I thought. You don’t want them getting any more momentum out of the blocks here. They are edging it physically, Ruddock a big big loss in that regard, but think Leinster lineo...

Re: European Cup Semi-Final: Away to La Rochelle, Sunday 2nd of May 3pm

Lost a bit of weight alright. We still have to move their pack though. Agree here - he’s been playing out of his skin in what I have to warn you is a brilliant team. Botia is the best player Henshaw has faced in a long time and I don’t really see a weakness. They are in better nick than the French ...

Re: European Cup Semi-Final: Away to La Rochelle, Sunday 2nd of May 3pm

Not sure about the fitness issue with LaR. From what I remember Skelton went the 80 versus Sale and he was always a solid 50 minute man. Maybe ROG has found his engine or the game was slow but it didn’t seem slow to me. Lost a bit of weight alright. We still have to move their pack though. Agree he...

Re: Ulster Rugby - 2020-21 Season

Mathewson a big downgrade. Thought he had a terrible game Wouldn’t blame him there to be fair, but nobody really arrested that slide. Cooney is the leader more than anyone else and typically got injured doing brave stuff. Leicester are a coming force again. They are a tough outfit and doing particu...
