Terrible news from Derry, Ryan McBride, captain of Derry City, died at his home, 27 years old. RIP

Yeah, I can live with that. The boys from the broadcasting region got a decent draw too.

I can see why the gaa are being criticised for not allowing the pairc to be used for the liam miller testimonial.
But then it's not their fault that the FAI spends vast sums in wages to it's chief executive and national coaches while not owning a pot to piss in.

Today, to little fanfare, Robbie Keane one of the all time greats of Irish sport retired.
68 International goals, that puts him 15th on the all time list. And of the players ahead of him only Ronaldo,Pele,Puskas and Klose would have played for European or South American countries.
14th highest scorer in Premiership history too!
Top 5 Irish player easily.
Thanks for the memories Robbie.

Top top player. Hopefully his relentless enthusiasm catches amongst the squad and fans.

People often gave his international scoring stats stick as it wasn't always against top teams: he turned up. He travelled to whatever place it was that Ireland were playing and did his job, again and again. We used to joke that Kevin Kilbane was our Irish soccer hero: top pro, played whenever, wherever.

Robbie had a stellar career. At one stage he was the player in the world who had the most expensive set of transfers! He is the kind of player we don't really produce now (and won't if we keep our current approach to player development). I remember going to see him and Duff play a senior A game for Ireland with my old man, just so we could see their senior debuts after their underage feats, and thinking what a bright future Ireland had.

He delivered his end and I wish him well in his new role.

+1.

After they finished making Robbie and Duffer, they lost the mould. Let's hope they find it somewhere.

Awful game but well done Liverpool. 6th UCL title and the Premier Leagues 5th title in the last 35 years.

Carnage in the world of football. ESL looks like its dead already. City, Chelsea pull out Woodwerd resigns from Utd, rumours abound about Perez and Agnelli.

Its funny, as you wade through the masses of ESL tweets occasionally you come across disgruntled welsh rugby fans trying to compare this with their wailing about getting into the English Prem.
Listen lads, its not going to happen.
If their was a rugby version of the ESL created, would a welsh club even get into that?
Leinster, Munster, Racing, Toulouse, Clermont, Stade, Toulon, Saracens, Exeter, Wasps, Leicester, Ulster?
Next in line out , Bristol, Northampton, La Rochelle, Quins, Glocks, Montpellier, Bordeaux, Bath

Way to go! I mean they actually made the Nigel's look competent. Sure they shat the bed and shot the pooch, but they did complete the coup.
