Is there a dispute ongoing or are we just painfully slow at announcing our academy.

That's what I've heard but it seems very very late and the only reason for that would be a dispute?

It would be a larger intake but some lads have been bumped to full deals who would be year 2/year 3 academy.

The fact none of them named by other provinces intake would suggest just slow updating website.
If mcloughlin or Maloney miss out wouldn't be end of the world. Both fine players but neither have a USP. More a question of how good can they get to.

Moloney has genuine pace, size and rugby ability.. certainly has a USP

Anyway I believe there may be one addition to those players, maybe 2 after offers from Connacht. Wait and see.

So Billy Corrigan is the name I think people hadn't exactly expected?

I think it's an exciting crop with some real prospects in there. Most excited about Niall Smyth probably, but there are plenty of really high potential players in there.

Big big academy class there. A load of u19s though so kind of frees us up for next year. Great stuff from Niall Smyth and Casper Gaberial coming in straight from school.

Is Gabriel Irish qualified yet? Just curious, I know it’s effectively academic either way as he will qualify by 23 at the latest if he’s not IQ already.

Corrigan the only player who was not considered by most that I can see?

He did neither extremely well nor poorly at the Under20s RWC. Certainly didn't look like a can't miss prospect. I guess he had other academy offers Leinster had to match?

10 is certainly a huge year 1 class. Have we had numbers swell that much in recent years?

Strange to see the forward in take be made up of 4 front rows, 2 second rows and no backrows.

In fact we only have one player who'd be considered a "pure" backrow (as opposed to a second row hybrid) in the entire academy in Liam Molony (although Culhane got promoted early)

The age profile our of senior backrows is good. But is there a slight slow down in the much vaunted Leinster back row factory?

well yes, no backrows in this years 20s, one in last years.
