A fender headstock with Leocaster lettering and a Leinster harp would look great in yellow on blue.Flash Gordon wrote: ↑September 22nd, 2022, 11:11 amLeo's had one and rightly so, not sure Joe or Checks got one and they won European Cups.Oldschoolsocks wrote: ↑September 22nd, 2022, 10:57 am Would Bomber or even Leocaster be eligible for a legends T-Shirt?

Could Gibbes be an option to replace Lancaster? Berch mentioned it on Twitter yesterday.
Can't say it would excite me that much but he's clearly very experienced and was a success here before.

Re: New contracts for coaching ticket
I heard at the weekend they have two final candidates: one external and one internal.
I can't really guess who the internal one might be, other than Goodman.
Apparently, they have offered it to the external candidate.
I hope it is not Gibbes. I have been a major fan of his, and he was great with us. But Clermont are stinking this season. They failed to make the play off last season. Got beaten in the quarters the previous season.
In short, they have been going progressively backwards.
Some of that is down to personnel. But this season has been poor. Losing to Bayonne at home was definitely one of the low points.

Rennie is of course free. And people are still dreaming of Robertson.
But we have been so innovative in recruiting coaches, it is hard to see us going for either of them.

I mentioned it in another thread but what about Pivac? Did great with Scarlets and like Lancaster before is coming off a bad time internationally looking to rehab his reputation.
Re: New contracts for coaching ticket
The 42 covered that in an episode and the consensus is that he’s not a hands on coach like Lancaster, he’s more like a director of rugby type like Leo, so his style would not suit us at all.sunshiner1 wrote:I mentioned it in another thread but what about Pivac? It's rumoured Rennie has a contract in Japan for after the RWC.curates_egg wrote: ↑January 16th, 2023, 1:16 pm Rennie is of course free. And people are still dreaming of Robertson.

Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014

What's he been doing for the year?
Re: New contracts for coaching ticket
That could be a very spicy meatball for Ulster fans if he gets the heave ho with Gibbes. There are other positions opening up though with Gatland taking FOrshaw from Sale etc.

He's been put in temporary charge by ASM. Would have thought they had someone lined up already.

They only lost on Friday. Sacking a guy the following Monday doesn't leave much time for that. Also you can't really look before you sack your coach without running the risk of someone like O'Gara outing you like he did with Eddie Jones.

Urios ex Bordeaux coach is favourite to take over it seems according to the French press. Seems Clermont have been talking to Urios since November.ronk wrote: ↑January 16th, 2023, 3:56 pm They only lost on Friday. Sacking a guy the following Monday doesn't leave much time for that. Remind me. Did Gibbs join Ulster as head coach and then leave for family reasons which turned pit to be a different contract in France?
What happened there?
