Racing had zero fooks to give about the game, and we beat them handily. SOB MOTM at 8 I think.
It's an easy train journey for me, so a bit disappointed it probably won't be in Paris.
That said, Racing have played a game in Brussels (I was there) and in Lilles before (also easy to get to), so all is not lost.
Re: Heineken Cup Dates 2022/23
Just checked the Racing site they say the dates and times venue for our fixture with them away will be announced a maximum of two weeks before the game doesn’t leave a whole lot of time to get organised ?.

The only other time I can remember a night that freezing for a game was years ago in Castres.curates_egg wrote: ↑July 22nd, 2022, 7:24 amIt was. Great night. One of our mates here drove back to Brussels on his motorbike at midnight. He was absolutely frozen solid getting home.footrush wrote: ↑July 22nd, 2022, 7:28 amThe only other time I can remember a night that freezing for a game was years ago in Castres.curates_egg wrote: ↑July 22nd, 2022, 7:24 amIt was. It's really strange - I remember so much about that trip to Paris (especially singing happy birthday to BOD when he scored) but I don't remember it being cold. We stayed in the Mercure that's about 300 metres from the Moulin Rouge and it's looked back on as one of our favourite rugby trips to France.curates_egg wrote: ↑July 22nd, 2022, 12:31 pmOne of our mates here drove back to Brussels on his motorbike at midnight. Re: Heineken Cup Dates 2022/23
I notice that Ryanair flights out on the 9th return on the 11th; are already approximately 3x the cost of the previous weekend, and the following weekend. My guess is a Friday night match.

It's very unlikely that Ryanair have any inside track on this. Much more likely their algorithm is just reacting to punters who have grabbed seats which suit their travelling. We've seen this before and they only need about 25 / 30 bookings in a short time to spark their system to adjusting prices. From past experience, these can fall back as quickly as they went up.
Re: Heineken Cup Dates 2022/23
I'm not saying Ryanair have an inside track. I'm just making an observation on prices, and a wild guess on match day. I'm happy (like multiple trips over the years) that I'll get good value. Best probably 25euro return La Rochelle in 2010 for semi in Toulouse. Car hire between 4 another 25 each. If you're planning on the Racing match away keep me posted on prices. Currently Dub/Paris Fri/Sun 90/82 - of course it could be on ánywhere'Ruckedtobits wrote: ↑July 24th, 2022, 9:24 amIt's very unlikely that Ryanair have any inside track on this. Re: Heineken Cup Dates 2022/23
Going to Marseille for €7.99 from Shannon might top that one.

Re: Heineken Cup Dates 2022/23
Gonna plead the 5th on the cost of return flight!
Re: Heineken Cup Dates 2022/23
Yeah, I’m still feeling the effects of that Marseille trip At least it’ll be a bit cheaper getting to this years final
Re: Heineken Cup Dates 2022/23
Gloucester have seemingly signed Zach Mercer.
Massive coup for them, he was by far the best player on the pitch in the Top 14 Final.

That's for the 2023/24 season apparently. He still has a year left on his Montpellier contract. It's just so he is eligible for selection for the world cup.

We didn't get dates last year until October 7th, it's an absolute shambles of an organisation.Ray Donovan wrote: ↑August 27th, 2022, 1:12 pm Champions League Draw done on Thursday. Full Group fixture list released already.
