Looking at the squad, form seems to have been ignored in some instances.
I think that Haley and Daly should be in the squad, both have been playing some unbelievable rugby lately and can definitely feel hard done by.

While it’s hard to argue about Joey, I find it a bit ironic that he is probably playing some of his best rugby at the moment, but it is now that he gets dropped.

The only rationale I can put out there is mayhap they are worried Lowe will not be back for the first couple of games from his family emergency in New Zealand?

Leinster are going to struggle to field a team against Cardiff. 20 players in the squad.

No Loughman but Kilcoyne included is strange. Certainly bending over backwards to include Stockdale, based on current form. McCarthy fortunate to be in based on recent injury profile but good luck to him & Osborne.

A little more of the hard-nosed, pragmatic, Farrell evident in that selection

Was definitely a big wtf? from me too. There are plenty of wingers whose form is in front of them at the moment.

Weird that Treadwell is out given how Farrell has cultivated him.

Very surprised that there's no development players this time.

Very tough on Haley, I would defo have him in over Stockdale. I can remember when Stockdale was good it was unforgettable but it was half a decade ago.

Daly probably loses out to Earls which isn’t fair on form but I love Earls and you could imagine him having a very positive influence on the groups mentality even if he doesn’t play much.

Surprised Joey is out, I think he should be but still surprised by it because Farrell has been so loyal. Joey’s defence is just not up and he isn’t offering much else.

Good squad overall.

Sentimental in my opinion. My guess is that they Earls up to 100 and then it's adios, no RWC. Stockdale looks like a charity selection, you're off the central contract, but we're giving you another chance for Ireland. On form, Nash, Daly, or Haley (even if he's not a winger) could be there instead.

not surprised by Treadwells omission; did he not get the shepherds hook early in one of the Autumn internationals, and or/dropped for the next one? Can't recall exactly - but there were signs.

I'd imagine they'll bring along a number 'development' players, just not mentioned for now in the 37 man squad announcement.

A few pretty questionable calls in there imo.

Earls & Stockdale in particular are head scratchers. Haley should be in.

Understand Murray personally.

Kilcoyne is likely in ahead of Loughman due to the latters injury.

Delighted for Ross though, fully deserved. Is Joey carrying a knock or just not selected?

I get that but thought Farrell's investment in him would continue. Apart from the strange selection of Jacob, Ulster players are on the outs like their form: Treadwell, Timoney, Hume, Lowry. Isn't Tom O'Toole injured?

I hope you're right. I'd like to see Niall Murray and Salanoa in there, and squad selection looks light in those positions.

His best is a long way short of what is required and is not as good as Ross Byrnes best.
