Fifth game this season, they're certainly backing him. Was a little surprised not to see Kilgallen on the sheet given his form.

15. Mack Hansen (29)
14. Byron Ralston (22)
13. Cathal Forde (19)
12. Bundee Aki (127)
11. Andrew Smith (4)
10. JJ Hanrahan (6)
9. Caolin Blade (177)
1. Denis Buckley (234)
2. Dave Heffernan (184)
3. Finlay Bealham (192)
4. Darragh Murray (14)
5. Joe Joyce (6)
6. Cian Prendergast (53)
7. Shamus Hurley-Langton (26)
8. Seán Jansen (2)

16. Tadgh McElroy (6)
17. Peter Dooley (24)
18. Jack Aungier (55)
19. Niall Murray (62)
20. Conor Oliver (69)
21. Michael McDonald *
22. David Hawkshaw (19)
23. John Porch (82)
Yet another change at 13. Is Farrell injured or just on the outs? He's not on the injury up-date list. Smith above Porch is interesting. Think this will be a close game.

I don't believe Farrell is on the outs, he started all four of our wins this season and played well. The combination with Forde is looking good, either he has something light that is benefiting from rest or this is management just managing minutes through the midfield squad: Forde, Farrell, Ralston, Hawkshaw, Daly so far, now Bundee and Bolton are available to join the party.

It's an absolutely packed midfield alright, with Shane Jennings still to come back into the fold as well, although I believe he was used primarily on the wing last season. You can push Ralston and Bolton out to the wings too, but it does make some of Connacht's recent outside back signings look even stranger. I wonder whether Smith was picked over Kilgallen due to the very fact that they'll be tasked with defending Penaud. I would've rated Smith a bit of a better defender than Kilgallen at this stage of their careers.

I cannot believe the amount of praise that Hanrahan has got this season. As Ropey an outhalf as I've seen on these shores.

Its mainly because Carty has been Connacht's biggest weakness for a few years.

Just blown a 5 on 2 overlap with a sloppy pass. He’s been poor.

That was dreadful, absolutely dreadful. If this was italy the groundstaff would be opening the gates on the players car park to let the fans in

Given the difficulty we endured getting past Connacht in the recent interpro this only adds to my sense of foreboding about our forthcoming match against LAR.
