Mark Sexton is been talked up so he seems the next most likely candidate.by Topdawg
Will be very interesting who they get, Nigel Carolan fancy a return ?
Perhaps a promotion in Connacht for Mark Sexton? At least whoever comes in can bring their own lieutenants

Pat Lam for a big homecoming after he gets canned from Bristol?Topdawg wrote:Will be very interesting who they get, Nigel Carolan fancy a return ?sunshiner1 wrote: ↑February 10th, 2023, 12:40 pm Agreed. Might let the new guy coming in a chance to put his own stamp on it but Senekal is a loss.

I like your right leg. A lovely leg for the role.
I've got nothing against your right leg.
The trouble is ... neither have you

Apparently John Muldoon is coming back in some capacity. No idea which. He's currently the forwards coach at Bristol afaik.

Kieran Marmion is allegedly off abroad next year. Don't know where.

Re: Connacht 2022/23
Not sure. They offered before so wouldn't be to surprised if he ended up there.
Re: Connacht 2022/23
Big loss but can't blame him. I can't think of a player with better form leaving Connacht since Colby Fainga’a. I find it strange that Farrell has shown no interest in him, and I guess international honours were the motivation for his decision to stay last time even in the face of the offer form Saracens.sunshiner1 wrote: ↑February 16th, 2023, 3:26 am Kieran Marmion is allegedly off abroad next year. Re: Connacht 2022/23
Not strictly true @neil_m. When Bundee's Central Contract was announced by IRFU, they indicated that his contract was associated with Connacht until end season 2024. To date, since their introduction, no centrally contracted player has changed allegiance. Nucifora would be the decision maker in this, not Bundee, so based on his (DN) track record, anything is possible.

Connacht score numerous tries against Zebre. Clock up a cricket score and still nearly manage to lose the game. Can't wait for Friend to go now.

Player and IRFU would be decision makers. It's not plausible that the IRFU could move a player against their will mid contract. It's unlikely they have it in the contracts.
Re: Connacht 2022/23
Will we get news of the new Connacht coaching team this week ?
Seems Peter Wilkins as the head guy supported by Muldoon and Mark sexton is the most likely at the moment

3 years as DOR for Pete Wilkins.
Ruddock's tackle stats consistently too low for me to be taken seriously as a Six Nations blindside..... Ruddock's defensive stats don't stack up. - All Blacks Nil, Jan 15th, 2014

Re: Connacht 2022/23
Head coach, the DoR role is being retired. Despite the histrionics of my fellow Connacht supporters online, I am cautiously optimistic, pending the announcement of the rest of the ticket.
