Leinster moved back up the table after their bonus-point win over the Dragons last week.

After a couple of weeks in the unusual surroundings of the lower and mid table, Leinster are back near the top of the table in second place just behind the Bulls on point difference. It's early days of course but the league has been nicely competitive so far this season with not too many one-sided games.

Leinster got back to winning ways last week.

The Sharks promised more than they delivered (pretty much on-brand for them) and Leinster ultimately won comfortably enough. The scrum was better and there were some nice moments of skill in the difficult conditions.

Well at least Leinster don't need to stress about how long they can keep an unbeaten run going this season.

Once Glasgow named a team with so many of their World Cup squad involved Leinster were always going to be up against it last Sunday and so it proved. The struggles of the scrum were entirely predictable with a very callow front row up against the likes of Zander Fagerson.

Happy new season!

Okay, the situation is a little different from normal when we come back in September starving for rugby after the summer. Now it's gloomy late October and even the most ardent Leinster fan would be forgiven for lacking the normal "new season" excitement. In what has to be the longest off season in the professional era Leinster play their first competitive game this Sunday in Glasgow after a five month break!
