For those who are old enough to remember the dire state of Irish rugby in the 90's, a third grand slam in 14 years (along with two other championships) is the stuff of dreams. Pre-tournament, some punters argued that Ireland should give up on the trophy and just play as many players as possible to blood them for the World Cup as if that would somehow magically make Ireland better in six months time.
