The King is dead (for Leinster anyhow)! Long live the King?

As debuts go, Sam Prendergast's was fairly spectacular. It wasn't perfect, there were a few minor errors, but he helped lead a callow side to a comeback win back from fifteen points down. Now some people are suggesting he could be a dark horse for a World Cup place with Ireland. After one senior game!!

Ireland did the job last weekend and completed their fourth ever Grand Slam. For those who are old enough to remember the dire state of Irish rugby in the 90's, a third grand slam in 14 years (along with two other championships) is the stuff of dreams. Pre-tournament, some punters argued that Ireland should give up on the trophy and just play as many players as possible to blood them for the World Cup as if that would somehow magically make Ireland better in six months time.
