October Update from the Official Leinster Supporters Club

In line with our protocol, the committee of the Official Leinster Supporters Club (OLSC) wish to update members on our progress since the inaugural AGM on 30 August.

We have had a number of meetings with Leinster Rugby to plan supporter events for the season ahead.

As you may know, we are providing free transport for members wishing to travel to Ravenhill for our Magners League match against Ulster on Friday, 26 October. Places are limited so if you have not already booked, reserve your seat now by e-mailing: tickets@leinsterrugby.ie

The committee have also started to plan the trip to Cork for the match against Munster on Friday, 30 November. Details of this will be released closer to the date.

For those supporters travelling further afield to the Heineken Cup matches in Toulouse, Edinburgh and Leicester, we will be publishing supporters' guides to each venue as the games approach. These will include details of designated hostelries in each city to serve as a meeting point for the blue invasion.

While many of you may already have visited the Supporters Club Bar in the RDS it will be officially launched on the night of the Connacht game with some accompanying festivities – more details coming soon. We hope you will join us on opening night and on match days for the rest of the season.

In addition to match day events, the traditional 'Meet the Players Night' will be held towards the end of November. Further details of this event will be announced as soon as the date, venue, and most importantly, players attending, have been finalised.

OLSC membership cards will be available for collection at the Connacht match. Until then, if you wish to avail of the discounts that Leinster Rugby have agreed with sponsors, please produce your season ticket booklet.

The committee has spoken with Leinster Rugby about the Grandstand and the planning permission issues that have delayed the construction of a roof on the stand. While the delay is beyond its control, Leinster Rugby is very concerned about the inconvenience it may cause some supporters.

As you know Leinster Rugby has already offered affected supporters a refund or the option to change to the North Stand or the South Stand at the reduced rate payable by season ticket holders in that stand.

We understand that very few people have opted to change or refund their tickets and the committee applaud the Grandstand ticketholders for their loyalty and continued support of Leinster Rugby.

On the housekeeping front we have appointed Jarrod Bromley as treasurer, Tara as secretary and Alison Moore as PRO. Robbie O'Connor was appointed as president of the club at the AGM.

We have also opened a bank account with Leinster Rugby's new sponsor Bank of Ireland and would like to thank them for their support.

Keep an eye on the website, the Leinster Lowdown and match day programmes for further updates on the activities of your club.
