President of the Club Robbie O'Conner marked the end of an era when he presented Denis with a framed version of the Disco Den t-shirt design featuring Denis's famous quote

I've always been a Leinster player. My dad played for Leinster. My uncle played for Leinster. My cousin played for Leinster. I'm a Leinster guy. I don't make any apologies for it. That's my team.

Denis thanked his family for their support over the years, saying that his parents were "Leinster fans as much as Denis fans". He paid tribute to the supporters and said that he hoped the newly official Leinster Supporters Club would harness the growth in the province's fan base and go from strength to strength.

We wish Denis all the best in the future and hope that he will be joining the Supporters Club next year!

Membership cards

Hopefully by now the majority of you will have collected your new Supporters Club membership cards but if you haven't there will be a further opportunity to do so at the match against Edinburgh on December 7. You can collect your card at one of the collection points inside the entry gates in exchange for the required 'Reserve 1' ticket from your ticket booklet.

Heineken Cup off to great start

Both Michael Cheika and Brian O'Driscoll commented on the positive effect that the supporters had on the players at last weekend's ERC game against Leicester so well done to everybody for doing their bit on the day. Let's keep it up and make the RDS a real fortress for the team. If you took home one of the new flags please do your best to bring it to games in the future as everyone agreed that they were very effective in turning the stadium blue.

The eve of the Heineken Cup also saw the OLSC host a gathering of visiting Leicester supporters in the Horse Show House where as always they were given a warm welcome by the home fans.

Away trips and city guides

Next weekend sees Leinster's first away trip in the Heineken European Cup and many supporters have planned to make the journey over to France. The OLSC Guide to Toulouse will be published both here and on www.leinsterrrugby.ie in time for the weekend. Those travelling to the game should make sure to get the Guide as it will include information on a designated meeting point (aka a hostelry) for 'les bleus'. A Guide to Edinburgh will follow in December.

Munster match

Once again we hope to have a sizable traveling support for the game against Munster at the end of this month and the Supporters Club would like to thank Guinness for organising free coaches down to Cork for ticketholders. If you have already purchased match tickets from Leinster Rugby you can still register for the buses by contacting guinnessrugby@ogilvy.com but it's first come first served and places are limited so act fast.

To all those travelling to these upcoming away games have a great time and be sure to give 'Molly' an airing or several!

Updates

As ever, keep an eye on the website, the Leinster Lowdown and match day programmes for further updates on the activities of your club.

The OLSC committee would like to remind members that although we all post on www.leinsterfans.com as individuals, for logisitical reasons if you want to contact the commitee please use the email address leinstersupportersclub@leinsterrugby.ie. Feedback is always welcome.
